Khao Lak

Khao Lak is surrounded by tropical rain forest and National Parks. Khao Lak National Park and Khao Sok National Park surround Khao Lak and cover a total area of 4,000sq.meters. Within the parks are designated special zones for ecotourism such as jungle trekking, picnic areas, swimming, rafting and bird watching.

Khao Lak is becoming increasingly popular with overseas visitors who accepted that Khao Lak actually became the heaven for relaxation. The combination of long stretches of unspoiled beach, crystal clear blue sea and virgin mountain wilderness make this area particularly attractive to tourists looking for a peaceful vacation in the Land of Smiles.

Apart from pure beaches and sea, Khao Lak is located closely to Thap Lamu Port where divers and excursion boats depart for Similan Islands; one of ten most beautiful diving site in the world. Khao Lak is the nearest land point to the small archipelago, counted among the 10 most interesting dive sites in the world, well known for the world class reefs and crystal clear waters surrounding the islands.

Besides, Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park - occupying 150 square kilometers just inland from Khao Lak Beach has many rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. There are several scenic nature walks and treks that can be taken through this verdant wilderness. There are also various activities for visitors to enjoy such as elephant trekking, rafting, canoeing, etc.

Khao Lak has been known as a very close to nature vacation refuge for some time. The calm and natural atmosphere makes a pleasing contrast to many other travel destinations in Thailand, such as Phuket, or Koh Samui. But the region has even more to offer than “just” fine sandy beaches below coconut trees. The nearby Similan Islands, for example, are known as one of the top ten diving spots in the world. Diving and snorkeling trips to the “Similan”, or also to the Surin Islands are offered daily. One-day trips to Myanmar (Burma), or to the “James Bond Island”, as well as the local Phangnga Bay tour and many more are also part of our program. Head out to exciting elephant trekking on the mainland, or visit one of the nearby waterfalls Ton Chong Fa, Lam Phrao, Hin Lat, or Lam Roo. The Song Phraek waterfall even offers the opportunity of canoe-rafting.
